But how will things be when your baby is actually here? How will your dog react? And how can you make the first meeting between your dog and baby safe, relaxed, and enjoyable?<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps you\u2019ve heard some stories or received advice, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Let your dog eat the first diaper to create a strong bond.<\/li>\n<li>Or even: let him eat the placenta&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Let your dog fully lick the baby.<\/li>\n<li>Or perhaps: let your dog sleep with the baby in the crib.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>But are these pieces of advice actually correct? Maybe you have your own ideas, but you\u2019re still unsure about how it will really go. And do you and your partner share the same vision of how your dog and baby will grow up together?<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The perfect time to start<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Starting from the <strong>20th week<\/strong> of your pregnancy is the ideal moment to think about the first meeting between your dog and your baby. The arrival of your child becomes more real, but you still have enough time to plan everything carefully and prepare your dog.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Content of the Baby &amp; Dog Course<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Session 1:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Introduction and discussion to see if you and your partner are on the same page.<\/li>\n<li>Dreams versus reality.<\/li>\n<li>Homework assignment for the next session.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Session 2:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>What will the first meeting look like step by step?<\/li>\n<li>Together, we\u2019ll create a clear script.<\/li>\n<li>First try-out and practicing practical skills.<\/li>\n<li>Homework to continue practicing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Session 3:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Review the full script and make adjustments if necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Questions, feedback, and anything else that needs to be discussed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>What can you expect?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>This course consists of <strong>three private sessions of 90 minutes each,<\/strong> where we prepare your dog step by step for the arrival of your baby. Additionally, we offer <strong>three months of follow-up support via WhatsApp or phone<\/strong>, so you can ask questions and receive additional guidance whenever needed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cost:<\/strong> <strong>\u20ac 425<\/strong> incl. Stef was fantastic in preparing us to help our dog transition into this new period in our family life. Thanks to the training and Stef&#8217;s bespoke approach, our dog quickly adapted to the new situation and is calm around the baby. This has been in invaluable training as our family grew &#8211; I am so pleased that we have a very happy and content dog who has adapted so well to the major change.
