Risks and Prevention

Vehicle Breakdown

In the event of a breakdown with the bus, I will arrange a replacement as soon as possible. The vehicle is, of course, insured and will be taken directly to the workshop.

Heat

I always ensure that the dogs are adequately protected from overheating or hypothermia.

The bus is equipped with air conditioning and ventilation.

In addition, woof-o follows a heat protocol, which is sent to all clients both during the initial intake and at the beginning of each summer.

Dog Fight

If a dog fight occurs, the dogs involved will be separated as quickly as possible and checked for injuries. If necessary, I will drive directly to the nearest veterinarian. The owners of the affected dogs will be informed immediately. If time allows, a visit to the vet will be discussed in advance. In such a case, I can also take the dog to the owner’s preferred veterinarian.

Injuries or Discomfort

I see your dogs daily or at least weekly. This allows me to quickly notice any changes in posture or movement. Any such observations — as well as signs of discomfort or injury — will be reported verbally or in writing to the respective owner the same day.

Lost Dog

Fearful dogs or those prone to running off are always kept on a long lead during walks. Dogs with a known risk of escape are additionally equipped with a Track & Trace device.

If a dog does go missing, I will take the following actions:

  • I will search for the dog myself while immediately contacting the owner.
  • During the search, I stay in constant contact with others in the area through various apps and Facebook groups.
  • If the dog is not found within a reasonable time, I will notify all nearby animal ambulances, post missing notices on social media, and, if necessary, hire a search team.
